Hurricane Irma Resources

For families seeking resources and information about recovering from the hurricane, visit our web page Helping Your Child Cope After A Hurricane. - NEW

Hurricane Irma has passed but early learning coalitions and child care providers continue to deal with its impact. The Office of Early Learning remains in contact with coalitions for updates and to provide assistance. Most coalition offices have reopened; others remain closed because of Irma's impact. Since coalitions, along with providers in their areas, try to follow the open or closed status of their local school district, you can find school district closures on the Florida Department of Education website at fldoe.org/irma.

Here is a list of early learning coalition office closures at this time. Coalitions are working to find out which child care providers are open and which are closed. Families should contact providers directly to check their status.

Early Learning Coalition Office Closures

  • Early Learning Coalition of Miami-Dade/Monroe
    • Miami Gardens office remains closed for repair.
  • Early Learning Coalition of Orange County office remains closed for repair.
  • Early Learning Coalition of St. Lucie County reopened in temporary quarters in the CareerSource Research Coast office space.
You can find contact information for the early learning coalition that covers your area on this coalition map. If your coalition office is closed, you can call the state Child Care Resource and Referral toll-free number: 866-357-3239.
