The Bright Beginnings Website includes resources for teachers and parents to use to guide children's success in emergent reading and mathematical skills while attending VPK. The website also includes the online reporting system for the VPK Assessment.
These Sample Lesson Plans, based on the Florida Early Learning and Developmental Standards for Four-Year-Olds (2011), are designed to help develop the skills that 4-year-olds should know and be able to do by the end of their prekindergarten year. There are target standards in each lesson plan. To show how one lesson can be integrated easily across the five domains of development, related standards are also included in each lesson plan.
The VPK Teacher Toolkit is a virtual resource for VPK teachers and directors. Each folder is created based on areas that stakeholders say they would like more information about. The direction of each topic is the result of a work group that includes stakeholders from across the state, as well as national experts. The folders include information and footage from real VPK classrooms across the state. New information and resources are added to folders as they become available. Folder that are currently available include Language and Vocabulary, Mathematical Thinking and the Florida VPK Assessment.
